Go Tech! Go Sidemount! Organized by PSAI China was Held in Three Major Cities in China: Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing During
10-27 August, 2013
PSAI seminars centered around diving related themes, as well as other activities offering Sidemount system diving experience and Open Water Sidemount training.
A series of seminars jointly delivered by Mr. Gallup Y.T. Lee, Training Director and Country Licensee of PSAI China and Mr. HP Hartmann from Go Sidemount was attended by more than a hundred visitors from all three cities. Topics included technical diving, safety of technical diving, diving equipment, cave diving photography and exploratory diving. Groups of old friends from PSAI, PSAI’s students as well as trainers and friends from other organizations took the opportunity to catch up with one another with enthusiasm and discuss broad topics among other lively interactions. Meanwhile, Mr. Gallup Y.T. Lee gave a detailed account of PSAI’s organizational structure, values and training, providing everyone with a better understanding and appreciation of the core vision and values of PSAI.
As part of the event, over 60 divers tried a hand on the RAZOR Sidemount system, who all found the system more convenient and lighter in weight. They also saw the need to go through learning and practicing over time in order to use Sidemount system properly, as they realized how much it differed from the use of Backmount, and how ABC skills would help for the posture as a whole to improve. Through such experience, divers were able to further acknowledge the difference between Sidemount and Backmount systems, as well as the necessity of ABC skills as part of PSAI training.
In the following Open Water Sidemount course, 23 divers from all three cities learned the necessary skills through step-by-step systematic training. Now as Go Tech! Go Sidemount! has drawn to a successful close, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all friends who came along. Special thanks were given to Mr. Gallup Lee and also, Mr. HP Hartman who travelled a long way to here as our honored guest, as well as our crew of helpers and every participant of the event. It’s the joint effort and participation of you all that helped made such a beautiful event filled with valuable exchange experience and friendly smiles. Thank you!
