Post-DEMA PSAI Sidemount
Instructor Trainer Workshop
PSAI was the very first certification agency to come out with a complete Sidemount Certification Program for Open Water Sidemount and Overhead Environment Sidemount. While others talked about it or were teaching from outline, PSAI actually turned out two manuals for both Sidemount Courses, along with teaching PowerPoint Presentations and Standardized Exams.
As part of our quality training philosophy, those Country Licensees wishing to conduct PSAI Sidemount Courses had to take their Instructor Trainer courses from the originators of our Sidemount Program (James Charles & Edd Sorenson). This assures both quality and consistency within the PSAI Sidemount Program, as there are so many conflicting ideas and philosophies as to how sidemount diving should be done (as well as self-styled “experts”). We wanted to make sure that all our PSAI Sidemount Divers were trained based on a sound, safe philosophy; with skills, knowledge and proper configuration which has a foundation centered on a long history from those who have been sidemounting for many decades.
Our first group of PSAI Sidemount Instructor Trainer Workshop participants who were in post-DEMA training came from PSAI China, Hong Kong & Macau and PSAI Korea.
