First Open Water Sidemount Course

First Open Water Sidemount Course

Edd Sorenson has recently finished teaching an Open Water Diver course that was performed in sidemount by all participants involved. The course, which ran from June 8 to June 30, was conducted at Millpond in Marianna, FL and Morrison Springs in Ponce de Leon, FL.

Edd said, “Sidemount diving used to be a specialist’s tool in the cave community. Today, the configuration is becoming much more mainstream. PSAI is at the forefront in delivering sidemount training to the diving public.”

PSAI allows the Sidemount in Open Water Environment course to be taught in conjunction with the Open Water Sport Diver course or any Technical Diver Program. Likewise, the Sidemount in Overhead Environment course may be taught in conjunction with the Cavern, Intro to Cave, Apprentice Cave, Full Cave, and Advanced Wreck Penetration courses.

Congratulations go to Frank and Jay in successfully completing their Open Water Diver requirements in what is arguably the first such course ever offered worldwide.
